Nothing wrong with eight years. I doubt Rick was working to be finished. He was working to be useful to the Lord and proclaim the Gospel in an informed and honorable manner.He worked to rightly divide God's word. The best things come about slowly, sometimes involving lessons we'd prefer to skip.
Congratulations to you both. Your road has been steeper than many.
May He (continue to) guide, keep and make His face to shine upon your whole family.

Wow- hope the selling the house goes well- it is HARD to keep it showroom clean when homeschooling- I remember it well! I had laundry baskets and would toss everything out of place in the basket and put it in the car with the kids and run out the door for showings. We also love writing with ease- I'm anxious to hear your new plans. Oh, and we are also going to school year round. It just makes sense and it gives us something to do in the "too hot to go outside" days of summer.

I have so many memories like this with my boys. It's amazing what they come up with. Once when Ty was about seven, he ran into the kitchen from outside where he was playing with his friends and informed me, "Momma! All I need is a lighter and a pair of scissors." Needless to say, my answer was no. Last month, I reminded him of this incident and he commented, "Yeah, I've grown up a lot. Now all I need is a blowtorch and a chainsaw!" Very funny.

Goodness- how awful! I'm so glad he's okay. Little Charlie had a smiliar experience and was put on steroids and antibiotics- it's so pitiful when they can't breathe. He is just SO ADORABLE- God gave you that happy little face to make you smile- what a beautiful, sweet boy.
